IMPALA has revealed a list of nominations for the fifth edition of the award IMPALA “European Independent Album of the Year” and one of the nominees is Nine Romic’s album ‘Stablo’.

This award is a European Mercury-style prize showcasing the musical talent and diversity of releases by European independent labels. Voting is currently taking place on the 23-album shortlist to decide who will succeed Spanish band Guadalupe Plata. The best album will be selected by a jury of IMPALA Board members, with the winner announced mid-February.

Sixteen countries are represented among the 23 nominees and ‘Stablo’ is the only nominated album from Croatia. We’ll remind that from this region only Jelena Radan, Bambi Molesters and Dubioza Kolektiv (twice) was nominated for the award.

Previous winners of the “European Independent Album of the Year” award are: Efterklang, Adele, The XX and Guadalupe Plata.
