Zoran Predin, known as a prominent Slovenian musician, singer-songwriter and writer, released his new song – “Lopta ima dušu”, published by Classic Records. The song brings a deep connection to basketball, a sport that has always been a significant part of his life. As a long-time supporter and admirer of basketball, Predin decided to express his passion through music.

The song is about us, a special basketball tribe that does not differentiate between gender, religion, nationality and skin color. Quite the opposite. Enthusiastic about the game, it unites us as kindred spirits of all ages and professions. The same triples and bananas get us on our feet, all our victories are equally sweet for everyone and our tears are equally bitter for everyone. That’s why I sing that the ball has a soul and that with its rhythm it always carries us to a better world, to the world of our favorite sport that always fills our hearts with the most beautiful feelings“, said Predin .

Zoran Predin has been present on the music scene for many years and has gained a wide audience with his original works. In addition to his love for music, Predin is also an active sports fan and has translated his passion for basketball into this new song. His varied musical career includes collaborations with different musical lineups and genres, from singer-songwriter expression to rock and pop.

Basketball is an important sport in Predin’s life, and his love for it was born when Yugoslavia became the World Champion in 1970. The next day, Predin started coaching basketball in the Maribor club Branik (then Maribor 66). “I wasn’t a special talent, but I was the captain of every team I played in. In the second year of high school, I injured my hip and my active basketball career was over. The ball was replaced by the guitar“, says Predin.

“The ball has a soul” marks another notable moment in Zoran’s musical career and is proof that art and sport come together in a special way to evoke emotions, connection and passion for life. In order to overcome regional language barriers, the song was recorded in as many as three languages and contains Croatian, Slovenian and Macedonian versions. Along with the song itself, a video clip produced by Roko Predin, the musician’s son, will be released soon.

The song is an ode to an attractive global sport. As such, it is dedicated to everyone for whom this sport means a lot. I can boast that I am preparing some very attractive surprises on this topic in the fall“, revealed Predin.
